Debbie joined Lighthouse Financial Planning, LLC in 2007. Her educational background includes a bachelors of science degree in accounting from California State University, Sacramento; a certificate in Personal Financial Planning from the UC Davis, Extension; and, graduation from the Financial Planning Association's (FPA) Residency program.
Debbie is passionate about the importance of the financial planning process in everyday life and the fiduciary standard of care. Her commitment to the financial planning profession is evidenced by her volunteer activities within the profession. She is active in the FPA both locally and nationally serving as the the FPA Northern California Chapter's President-Elect and sitting on both the National Career Development Committee and the Professional Development Advisory Group. Debbie is a founding member of the FPA's Mid-Profession and Career Transition planners (MPACT) community of interest and she currently serves as the Career Transition Chair for the national group. Additionally Debbie participates in a study group consisting of a handful of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS(TM) from around the county created for the purpose of studying, discussing and exploring all topics financial planning related.
Debbie's experience prior to her career as a CFP® includes more than twelve years of financial and operations experience at the City of Woodland where she was the Assistant Finance Director; forming and operating a successful investment club; and, consulting with several other municipalities on financial operation issues.
